Good quality rain gear, rubber boats and warm, layered clothing to deal with the varying temperatures and rain is a must! Be sure to wear a pair of good walking shoes or boots for your floatplane trip, docks can be slippery. Rubber boots or wellies really do work best. Thorne Bay has a well-stocked grocery and liquor store. We do not recommend flying in food or beverages, as the airline will charge 0.45 cents per pound for luggage weights over 40 pounds per person. The float planes will charge for coolers as well, so plan on buying fish boxes here or in Ketchikan, rather than bring coolers. Fishing tackle can be purchased at our local tackle shops. Fishing licenses must now be purchased online at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=sportlicense.main
